ServicesWhitelisting & Spark Ads

Your best ad, running from the creator's own handle

Spark Ads let you boost a creator's TikTok post from their handle. Partnership ads do the same on Instagram and Facebook. Both keep the creator's name, face and comments on the ad, which is why they read as a post and not a brand upload. hypjam collects the authorisation before the shoot, dates it, and takes it down when the window ends.

4

Spark Ads windows to pick from: 7, 30, 60 or 365 days

Three permissions, kept separate.

Spark Ads, partnership ads and usage rights are three different things with one confusing vocabulary. Mix them up and you spend the first week of a campaign chasing re-approvals. The brief and the release name each one on its own line.

Spark Ads, TikTok

A code from the creator's app, tied to one post, that lets your ads manager boost it from their handle.

Partnership ads, Meta

The creator tags your brand as a paid partner and grants your ad account permission to run ads through their profile.

Usage rights, the file

The licence to use the raw footage anywhere the platform toggles do not reach. No button grants it; it lives in the agreement.

Collected before the shoot, not after the first cut.

Authorisation is admin, and admin done after the footage lands stalls a launch. Who generates the code, who accepts the invite and by which date are written into the brief and the creator's release, so nothing is negotiated in the week you wanted to be spending.

Dated on the brief

The code or invite has a due date relative to the shoot. It is a line on the tracker like any other.

Agreed in the release

The creator has already signed to provide it, at a rate agreed before they film, so there is nothing to renegotiate.

Checked before the edit ships

A cut does not leave us for an ad account until the authorisation it needs is in hand.

TikTok: a code, a window, and a stop when it expires.

The creator generates an authorisation code in the TikTok app for that specific post and sets a duration. The options are 7, 30, 60 or 365 days; we ask for the window the brief needs. When the code expires, delivery stops, and the ad does not quietly switch to running as your brand.

Per post, from the app

Settings, ad settings, ad authorisation, generate. We send the creator the steps and the window we agreed.

A window that matches the brief

7, 30, 60 or 365 days; we ask for the window the brief needs. Always-on creators get the longer window, with a renewal review written in.

A reminder before it lapses

A renewal reminder sits on the tracker ahead of the expiry so a campaign never pauses because a code ran out mid-flight.

Meta: an invite, and an end date nobody else will set.

Partnership ads do not expire on their own. Once a creator accepts, your ad account can run through their profile until they revoke it. So the window is set in the agreement, and removing access at the end is a step on our offboarding list, not something left to a platform.

Invite or tag, accepted once

Your account sends the partnership invite, or the creator tags your brand as a paid partner and allows ads through the post.

The window is ours to keep

The number of days is in the release. Meta will not enforce it, so the tracker does.

Access removed at the end

When the window closes, the creator revokes partnership status and we confirm it. Nobody is left running ads they did not agree to.

Rate and renewal, decided up front.

Whitelisting is a licence on top of the content fee. A flat usage fee per video for a set window is the simplest, and it is the one we use as standard, with the renewal price written down before the first window closes.

A flat fee per video per window

Not a CPM share, not a surprise. The creator's rate for the window is agreed in the release.

Renewal priced in advance

What extending the window costs is on the agreement from day one, so a winner can keep running without a new negotiation.

Exclusivity only if you ask

Category exclusivity is a separate line with its own definition of 'competing' and its own price. It is never implied.

Labelled properly, on every platform.

An ad from a creator's handle is still an ad. It carries the platform's paid-partnership label and meets UK advertising rules on disclosure, because a post that hides that it is an ad is a post that gets pulled.

Platform labels on

TikTok's and Meta's paid-partnership labels are switched on as part of the authorisation, not as an afterthought.

Disclosure in the caption

Where the label alone is not enough, the caption carries the disclosure the ASA and CAP Code expect.

Claims already checked

The must-say claims were checked at the brief, so what runs from the creator's handle is what was agreed.

Built for the problems whitelisting actually has.

Not a checkbox in ads manager. hypjam's setup is built around what goes wrong: the code that expired mid-flight, the access that never ended, the permission nobody asked for, and the label nobody switched on.

The code expired two weeks in

Delivery stops the day a Spark Ads code lapses. Windows are dated on the brief and a renewal reminder sits ahead of every expiry.

The access that never ended

Meta does not expire partnership access on its own. The window is in the agreement and removing access is a step on our list.

'Usage rights included', no days, no platforms

The most common cause of a mid-campaign dispute. Ours name the platforms and the number of days, separately from whitelisting.

An ad that did not say it was one

A post without the paid-partnership label and disclosure is a post that gets pulled. Labels and captions are part of the setup.

How it works

From a signed release to a running Spark Ad in one window.

  1. 01

    Written into the release

Which platforms, which permissions, how many days, what it costs to renew. Signed before the shoot.

  2. 02

    Collected before the cut ships

The creator generates the TikTok code or accepts the Meta invite by the date on the tracker.

  3. 03

    Launched from their handle

The cut runs as their post with the paid-partnership label on and the disclosure in the caption.

  4. 04

    Renewed or removed

A reminder before expiry. Renew at the price already agreed, or the access is revoked and confirmed.

Under the hood

Built for the ad account, not adapted to it.

Every part of the setup is tuned for how the two platforms actually behave: one expires on its own, one never does, and neither reads your contract.

TikTok

Code per post

Generated by the creator in the app for a specific post, with a window of 7, 30, 60 or 365 days. Delivery stops at expiry.

Meta

Invite per account

Partnership ads run through the creator's profile once accepted, with no platform expiry. The window lives in our agreement.

Timing

Before the shoot

Authorisation is dated on the brief and signed in the release. A cut does not ship to an ad account without it.

Renewal

Priced up front

The cost of extending a window is on the agreement from day one, with a reminder on the tracker before expiry.

Offboarding

Access removed

When a window closes, the creator revokes access and we confirm it. Nothing keeps running past what was signed.

Disclosure

Label and caption

Platform paid-partnership labels on, disclosure in the caption where the ASA and CAP Code expect it, claims as checked at the brief.

Rights
“We started hypjam because brands kept hiring creators one by one and nobody was directing the work. We treat UGC like a production: one brief, one team, a script before anyone films, an edit built for the feed.”

FAQ

Questions brands ask about whitelisting.

Is whitelisting the same as Spark Ads?

Not quite. Spark Ads is TikTok's mechanic: a code per post. Whitelisting is the loose cross-platform term; on Meta the actual feature is partnership ads: an invite per account. Same idea, different buttons, and we set up both.

Do we need usage rights as well?

Usually, yes. Spark Ads and partnership ads let you run the creator's post from their handle. Usage rights let you use the file itself from your own handle, on your site or anywhere else. They are separate lines in the release and you can have one without the other.

How long does authorisation last?

On TikTok, the window the creator sets on the code: 7, 30, 60 or 365 days, and we ask for the one the brief needs. On Meta, until access is revoked, so the window is set in our agreement and enforced by us. Both are dated on your brief.

What happens when a window ends?

A reminder comes before it. You renew at the price already on the agreement, or the code lapses and the Meta access is revoked and confirmed. Nothing keeps running past what the creator signed.

Can a creator pull an ad mid-campaign?

On TikTok the ad stops if the code is revoked; on Meta access can be pulled at any time. That is why the release includes a notice period before either happens.

Is a whitelisted ad still labelled as an ad?

Yes. The platform's paid-partnership label is switched on as part of the setup and the caption carries the disclosure UK advertising rules expect. A post that hides it is an ad gets pulled.
