Process
Everything a brief needs, week by week.
A hypjam brief runs as a fourteen-day sprint: brief, hooks and script, casting, shoot, edit, rights and delivery. This page is the whole thing written down, so you always know what happens next and what we need from you.
Brief desk
Turns your launch, offer and audience into one specific brief, locked before anyone films.
Where are you
Choose where you are
Start with the part of the process you are in. Each section says what happens, who does it and what we need from you.
Deciding whether to brief us
What the intro call covers, what goes in a written brief, and what a package includes before you sign anything.
Open DuringInside a sprint
Hooks, script, casting, the shoot and the edit, in the order they happen, with the two points where we need your approval.
Open AfterVideos delivered
Rights, files, whitelisting setup, our read on what to run where, and how the next brief gets sharper than the last.
OpenWeek 0: the brief
Everything that has to be true before a sprint starts. It takes a thirty-minute call and one written document, and it ends with one contract and one invoice.
The intro call
Thirty minutes, no deck.
What it covers
You tell us what you are launching and who it is for. We tell you whether UGC is the right call, which package fits and what a first sprint would look like. If it is not a fit, we say so on the call.
How to book it
- Pick a slot on the calendar at /book.
- Add one line about the product and the launch date, if there is one.
- Bring whoever signs off creative; approvals are quicker when they have heard the plan.
The written brief
One document, specific fast.
What belongs in it
- The product and the offer, in one sentence each.
- Who it is for and where they will see it: platform and placement.
- The goal for this round: launch, always-on paid, organic, creative test or retention.
- Brand voice, must-say claims with their evidence, and anything that must not be said.
- References you like, and references you do not.
- Dates: product ready, shoot window, go-live.
Who writes it
We do, from the call and a short set of questions. You edit it once. A brief nobody has read is the most common cause of a reshoot, so we do not start a sprint until it is signed off.
Package and contract
One contract, one invoice.
How it works
You choose Starter, Growth or Scale. The contract covers the briefs, the casting, the scripts, the filming, the edits and organic plus paid usage rights for the term. Creators and editors are paid by us out of the package fee; you never negotiate with them directly.
What it does not cover
- Your ad spend.
- Product units and postage to creators.
- Usage windows longer than the term, which we price in upfront if you want them.
Product and access
What we need in hand before day one.
Checklist
- One unit of the product per creator cast, or a login for software and apps.
- Logo, colours and any on-screen assets in the formats you already have.
- If we are setting up whitelisting or Spark Ads: advertiser access on the ad account, granted to us, not shared as a password.
- A named person on your side who can say yes.
Week 1: script and cast
The idea is settled before anyone films. Eight hooks per script, a locked script you have approved, and a shortlist of creators you have approved, all inside the first week.
What happens
The creative director writes eight opening lines for each video: the first one to three seconds that decide whether anyone keeps watching. They are grouped by type (curiosity, POV, comparison, problem-first) so a test round covers different angles, not eight versions of the same one.
What you see
- The eight hooks, with a one-line note on why each one is there.
- Our pick of the two to three we would shoot first.
- A live tracker link, so you can see where every video is without asking.
What it contains
- Hook, body, proof and payoff, written in the creator's voice, not the brand's.
- A shot list: what is in frame for each line.
- Claims that have been cleared, and the words we will use for them.
- Captions and on-screen text, drafted now so the edit is not guessing.
- Delivery notes: pace, tone, what to do with the product on camera.
Approval one
You approve the script. This is the first of two sign-offs in a sprint. Changes after this point are a new brief, which is why the revision round almost never gets spent on reshoots.
How we cast
The producer shortlists creators from the roster against the brief: niche, tone, look, age range, and whether they can take direction. Follower count does not come into it; you are buying the take, not the audience.
Approval two
- You get the shortlist with a sample clip for each creator.
- You approve, or ask for a different direction.
- We book them and send the product.
What each creator signs
- A release covering the footage they shoot for this brief.
- The fee and the payment date.
- The usage window and platforms, matching your package.
- Whether the video can run from their handle (Spark Ads, partnership ads) and for how long.
Week 2: shoot, cut, ship
Creators film on their phones, our editors cut for the platform, you get one revision round, and the finished videos land with their rights in writing by day fourteen.
How it runs
Each creator gets the script, the shot list, references and a short direction call. They film on their own phone, in their own space, and send us raw takes. We ask for retakes the same day if a hook is not landing, so the edit starts with the right material.
What we check on the day
- Every hook has at least two usable takes.
- The product is in frame the way the script says.
- Cleared claims were said as written.
- Light, sound and framing survive a vertical crop.
What comes out
- A hook cut and a full edit for every video in the package.
- Native captions and on-screen text, checked against the script.
- Sound chosen for the platform, with licensing that allows paid use.
- Versions for TikTok, Reels, Shorts, Snap or Pinterest as the brief specifies, not one file for everywhere.
The revision round
One per video, included.
How to use it
- Watch the cuts in the tracker and leave notes against the timecode.
- Send everything in one pass; a single list is faster than five emails.
- We turn the round inside the fourteen-day sprint.
What it is usually spent on
Pacing, captions and the order of the payoff. Almost never a reshoot, because the script was locked in week one.
Rights and delivery
Files, licence and a read on what to run where.
Service: Whitelisting and Spark AdsWhat you receive
- The finished videos, named by hook and platform.
- The usage licence in writing: platforms, territories, organic and paid, start and end dates.
- Whitelisting or Spark Ads set up and shown to you, where it is in the package.
- A one-page note on which cuts to run first, and where.
After delivery
The videos are live. What happens next depends on your package, but the principle is the same: watch what performs and brief the next round around it.
What it is
A monthly session where we go through what ran, what held attention and what did not, hook by hook. We do not run your ad spend, so the numbers are yours; our job is to read them into the next brief.
The next brief
Sharper than the last.
How it starts
- The winning hooks get new variants; the losers get retired.
- Creators who landed get briefed again; the roster fills any gaps.
- Anything you learned about the audience goes into the brief before we write a word.
Usage windows
We remind you before they end.
What to expect
Every licence has an end date on it. We tell you when it is coming, you either renew or stop running the video, and nothing renews without you asking.
Onboarding
Set up your first brief
The first sprint needs a few things from your side before day one. Split them across the people who know each area best.
| Step | Who on your side | What to prepare |
|---|---|---|
| Intro call | Whoever owns the launch | The product, the goal, the date, and a rough budget band. |
| Written brief | Marketing lead | Offer, audience, brand voice, must-say and must-not-say claims, references. |
| Claims and evidence | Founder or product lead | Proof for any claim a creator will say out loud. |
| Product dispatch | Operations | One unit per creator, or logins for software, ready to send on shortlist approval. |
| Ad account access | Whoever runs paid | Advertiser access for whitelisting or Spark Ads, granted to us rather than shared. |
| Approvals | One named person | Script sign-off in week one, shortlist sign-off in week one, revision notes in week two. |
Reference
What keeps a sprint on time
Most delays come from one of these six things arriving late. Keep them ready and fourteen days holds.
Product
One unit per creator, posted the day the shortlist is approved. Apps and software need a working login.
Brand voice
How you talk and how you do not. A page of examples beats a forty-page guideline.
Claims and evidence
Anything a creator will say about the product, with the proof behind it, before the script is written.
Approvals
One person who can say yes to the script and the shortlist inside a working day.
Ad accounts
Advertiser access for whitelisting and Spark Ads, granted to our account so nothing is shared as a password.
Dates
Product-ready date, shoot window and go-live. We plan the sprint backwards from the last one.

Each price covers everything listed in that package: the briefs, the casting, the scripts, the filming, the edits and organic plus paid usage rights for the term. It does not cover your ad spend. ‘From’ is honest: we scope the final number once we know how many videos you need and how long you want the rights for. Packages run month to month with a one-month minimum.
FAQs
Common process questions
What is the difference between a brief and a sprint?
The brief is the document: what we are making and why. The sprint is the fourteen days that turn it into finished videos. One brief, one sprint; Growth and Scale run more than one a month.
Where do the two approvals happen?
Both in week one: the script, then the creator shortlist. After those, the sprint runs without needing you until the revision round.
What should we look at each week?
Week one: the hooks, the script and the shortlist. Week two: the cuts in the tracker. After delivery: the licence dates and the note on what to run where.
What slows a sprint down?
Product arriving late, claims without evidence, and approvals that need three people. The onboarding table above is the fix for all three.
How does the tracker fit in?
Every video has a row: hook, creator, status, and the current cut. You see it move from scripted to shot to edited to delivered without asking us for updates.
Can a sprint run faster than fourteen days?
Sometimes. Rush timelines are possible on a simple brief with product already in hand; we will tell you honestly if the brief needs the full two weeks.
