ServicesFounder-led video

Directed on camera, so you never sound like a deck

Sometimes the best person to sell the thing is the person who built it. The problem is that founders on camera tend to pitch. hypjam runs you through the same process as its creator roster: a brief, a hook shortlist, a shot list, takes and retakes with a director on the call, then an edit that lets you sound like yourself.

Hooks written for you, as for any creator

Director on the call for every take

5

Beats, none of them a pitch

30 minutes

The intro call, before any shoot day is booked

A brief for you, not a script from you.

Founders know too much about the product, which is why they explain it instead of selling it. The brief picks the one thing this video has to say and cuts the rest, the same way it would for any creator.

The one thing, chosen with you

Why you made it, what it fixes, or the offer. One, not all three.

Must-say claims, checked

The lines you are allowed to say about the product, written down, so a good take is a usable take.

Everything else cut

The roadmap, the funding story and the ingredient list are for a different video, or none.

Hooks you would actually say.

Eight opening lines, written in your register after a call with you, not in ours. A founder hook that sounds like a creator's is worse than either. The right one sounds like the thing you say when someone asks what you do.

Written from your words

We take the lines you use on calls and in emails and turn them into openings, then shortlist two with you.

No 'hi, I'm the founder of'

The first three seconds are for a thought, not a title. The title can be a caption.

Patterns that suit a founder

Confession, mistake reveal, 'why does this still happen', comparison. The ones that earn a founder the right to talk.

A director on the call, every take.

You film on your own phone, at your desk or wherever the product lives, with a hypjam director watching each take land and giving one note. Again, slower. Again, look at the lens, not the screen. Again, say the line like you would to a friend.

Pre-shoot call, ten minutes

Framing, light, the product in frame, audio, and the hooks read back until they sound like you.

Hooks first, three deliveries

Each shortlisted hook shot on its own, three ways. The flat one is usually the best one.

One note between takes

Watched back on the spot. Retake or move on, decided there. Nobody leaves with a take that does not work.

Shot like UGC, on purpose.

No lav-mic-and-two-cameras interview set-up. A phone, a tripod, natural light and the place you actually work. A founder video that looks like a commercial gets treated like one; one that looks like a message from a person gets watched.

Your phone, your desk

The kit is the same as for any creator. What changes is who is in front of it.

Product in hand

The demo beat is you using it, close, the way a customer would. Not a render.

Vertical, for the feed

9:16, framed for a phone screen, captions in the safe zone. It runs where your UGC runs.

Edited so you sound like yourself.

The cut takes out the restarts and the 'um', keeps your rhythm, puts the words on screen and paces it for the placement. It does not add a logo sting, a name lower-third or a music bed that turns a person into a brand.

Restarts out, rhythm kept

Dead air and false starts trimmed. Your pauses left where they mean something.

Captions, not lower-thirds

Your name and role can be a first caption. Not a broadcast graphic.

Per placement, like any cut

One file per platform, paced for it, with the one revision round every video gets.

Run alongside the roster, not instead of it.

A founder video works hardest as the anchor of a launch sequence, with creator ads around it. The same brief, the same test grid and the same debrief cover both, so you learn whether your face or a creator's holds attention for your product.

The anchor of a launch

The 'why we made it' cut runs first; creator testimonials and demos follow it in the same batch.

On the same test grid

Founder is a row on the hooks × formats × creators grid, read like any other creator.

Whitelisted from your own handle

Runs from your personal account with the partnership label where that reads better than the brand's.

Built for the problems a founder on camera actually has.

Not media training. hypjam's founder work is built around what goes wrong when the person who built the thing tries to sell it: the pitch, the explaining, the title in the first three seconds and the edit that makes them a brand.

It sounds like the deck

Mission, market, roadmap. The brief picks one thing and the director stops the take when a slide creeps in.

Explaining instead of selling

Founders know every detail and say all of them. Five beats, a must-say list and everything else cut.

'Hi, I'm the founder of…'

A title is not a hook. The first line is a thought written from your own words; the title is a caption.

An edit that turns a person into a brand

Lower-thirds, a music bed and a logo sting. Our cut trims, captions and stops, so you still look like someone.

How it works

From a call with you to a cut of you in one sprint.

  1. 01

    We talk, and listen

Thirty minutes on why you built it and how you say it. The hooks come from that call.

  2. 02

    Brief and hooks

The one thing, eight hooks in your register, five beats, the claims you can make. You pick two hooks.

  3. 03

    Directed on your phone

Pre-shoot call, hooks first, three deliveries, one note between takes, logged by take.

  4. 04

    Cut and run

Restarts out, captions on, one file per placement, one revision round. Then the creator ads around it.

Under the hood

Built for a person, not adapted to a brand.

Everything is tuned for one founder, one phone and the difference between talking to a lens and talking to a customer.

Brief

The same two pages

One thing, eight hooks, five beats, must-say claims, don'ts. Written after a call with you, not sent as a form.

Hooks

In your words

Drawn from how you already describe the product, shortlisted to two, with the title moved to a caption.

Direction

On the call

A hypjam director for every take, remotely as standard, in the room in London where it earns it.

Kit

Your phone

Tripod, window light, clean audio, your desk. The same set-up as any creator on the roster.

Edit

Restraint

Trimmed, captioned, paced per placement. No lower-thirds, no music bed over the words, no logo sting.

Rights

Yours, and labelled

You are the creator, so the release is simple; whitelisting from your own handle carries the paid-partnership label.

“We started hypjam because brands kept hiring creators one by one and nobody was directing the work. We treat UGC like a production: one brief, one team, a script before anyone films, an edit built for the feed.”

FAQ

Questions founders ask before they go on camera.

I am not good on camera. Does this still work?

That is the normal starting point. You are not performing; you are saying one thing to one person, three times, with a director telling you which take worked. The flat take is usually the one.

Do I need a script?

No. You get a brief: one thing, two hooks written from your own words, and five beats to hit in your own phrasing. Word-for-word scripts make founders read, and reading is the problem.

Where do we film?

Wherever you actually work, on your own phone, with a director on a call. If the brief earns it, a London shoot with the director in the room can be arranged.

How long does it take?

Inside the fourteen-day sprint like any brief: a call, the brief and hooks, an afternoon of takes, the cut, one revision round.

Can it run from my own account?

Yes. A founder cut often reads better whitelisted from your personal handle with the paid-partnership label than from the brand's. It is set up like any Spark Ad or partnership ad.

Should we do this instead of creator ads?

Alongside, not instead. The founder cut anchors the launch and the creator ads test around it on the same grid, so the debrief tells you which face holds attention for your product.

Say the one thing, to a lens.

Book a call. We will find the line you already use to explain the product and show you how it becomes the hook.
